Hi! My name is Kallan, I am 19 and I was born in Cambridge! Aged two weeks I was left on a doorstep. My cousins stepped in and I lived with them until I was 11 years old, when social services had to step in and removed me from their care protecting me from further emotional and physical abuse which had been a regular occurrence. I was then placed into 17 different homes.

During this time I found the my love and passion for acting was born. Being able to create an imaginary world and escape my reality at that time gave me a way through. It allowed me moments of great happiness from age four and has remained this way. I never let go of my dream of one day being a professional actor. Against the odds I am still fighting for this dream! Ive never let go of it.

I am proud to tell you that I have have been accepted into THREE of THE World renowned Acting schools in the USA. 1) The New York Film Academy, (2) American Musical And Dramatic Academy, both of which have currently offered me a scholarship to attend and (3) The American Academy Of Dramatic Arts where the likes of Anne Hathaway, Danny DeVito and Paul Rudd has attended. I could not be more pleased.

I have decided to go with The American Academy of Dramatic Arts which has been my dream for many years. However, unfortunately I have come to an financial barrier on my path. This is due to being an international student studyingin the USA; and I do not have parents or family to offer any support. I have tried to save every penny that I could in hope that it can embrace the opportunity of studying in America to become a professional actor. Sadly, despite my best efforts I haven’t been able to save enough saved yet, which breaks my heart.

I am here to politely call on you in hope that you could be part of making an ordinary guy, with a big dream come true, and to be part of the next steps of this adventure. It is such an amazing opportunity and would fulfil the biggest dream; a dream that has kept me going for many years. I have added my audition videos, the acceptance letters and some photos below for you to see so you can see who you are investing in and to get a better understanding of who I am.

I am a highly focused and determined young man who throughout his life has never let go of his dreams of becoming an actor despite having been laughed at when I tell people what my goal is. I have been told very nasty things when opening up to people about what I want to do. People will say things like “that’s not a proper career” “don’t make me laugh!” “You won’t get anywhere” and despite all of that I have pushed myself through it all and I have now become one step closer to achieving this goal. You would be investing into the right sort of person for the industry because of the mindset I have. I understand that I will receive a lot of no’s and I will get a lot of rejection but that will only encourage me more; motivating me because I know they chose me to audition for a reason and I will use my rejection to learn from those who were successful in their auditions. Acting is my life and I would never give it up because it gets too hard. I know the risk that others say I would be taking but to me it isn’t a risk. It is my life. If every aspiring actor never gave up because things got tough then they would have made it. That is the difference between the thousands of aspiring actors and me. I will never give up and I will use every moment as an opportunity to develop myself, my skills and to learn from others around me even if it is in failure. No one can ever take that courage away from me.
