Hello and welcome to Cambridge Charity Fund raisers

How Cambridge Charity Fund Raisers was formed:

During 2007 a small group of anglers who enjoyed match fishing arranged a couple of light hearted fishing matches which became regular monthly events. Within the group some of the anglers had their own companies and between us we felt we had some very good business contacts in the local area and decided that we could run these fishing events as charity fund raising events. In 2007 I formed Cambridge Charity Fund Raisers .

When we started out we decided to support one charity each year. We are not a registered charity but work as a fundraiser/partner with registered charities. I always approach the chosen charity to seek their written approval prior to fundraising. We continue to run our annual fishing series of six matches and all money raised along with the sponsorship money raised by the anglers is donated to our chosen charity. We also have social events and collections and sporting dinners, raffles and auctions.

CCFR has grown over the years and we receive numerous inquiries for funding, so we now try to assist as many charities as possible each year rather than just one. We have supported a number of overseas Fresh Water Projects, England Amputees Football Team, we have sponsored three guide dogs, worked with the Hinchingbrooke Special Care Baby Unit, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices on three occasions, twice with Cancer Research UK, twice with Magpas , Copars helping children with cancer at Addenbrookes Hospital. The Road Victims trust, Toms Trust caring for Children with brain tumors. Three times with Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.

The funding that we have provided to all the charities would not be possible without the support of all our sponsors over the years to who we are so very grateful.

Our aim is to try to help change lives for the better

Ian Darler
